CYCLE VOLTA CALLS REIGN E+ PRO “TRAIL-CRUSHING LONG-TRAVEL FUN”
Cycle Volta, a website that specializes in coverage of E-bikes, posted a review of the Reign E+ Pro, calling it “trail-crushing long-travel fun, with top-shelf componentry.”
Tester John Peters described some of the engineering and technology behind the Reign E+ Pro, including its SyncDrive Pro motor that delivers 250 watts and 80Nm of torque, as well as the EnergyPak battery system. “Even in the lowest mode, there is plenty of torque to help you up the steep stuff,” he wrote. “Pedal response is quick and fairly seamless.”
Peters was impressed with the ALUXX SL aluminum chassis, writing that “the geometry is well-sorted.” Out on the trail, he found that “a slack head angle and long wheelbase made for a stable ride.”
Peters also found that the mix of premium components on his Reign E+ Pro 0 test model lived up to this E-bike’s high-performance aspirations. “Headlining the parts list is SRAM’s wireless Eagle AXS derailleur/shifter and RockShox Reverb AXS post—allowing shifts and post drops minus wire or cable,” he wrote. “Along with making shifts consistent and crisp, the absence of cables reduces rattle by a surprising margin.”
The Giant e-TRX WheelSystem also passed the test with flying colors. “Boost-sized hubs laced to 30-millimeter-inner-width alloy rims make up Giant’s e-TRX wheelset—striking a good balance of weight and durability,” Peters wrote.
